Pada dasarnya, biaya pendidikan selama kuliah di Universitas Indonesia masih tergolong lebih murah dibandingkan dengan kuliah di perguruan tinggi swasta.

Secara garis besar, biaya kuliah UI dibagi menjadi biaya untuk program sarjana reguler dan program non sarjana reguler.
Biaya untuk sarjana reguler tergolong lebih murah dibandingkan biaya kuliah untuk non sarjana reguler.
Program sarjana reguler UI menggunakan UKT atau Uang Kuliah Tunggal yang dibayarkan untuk setiap semester.
Di sisi lain, program NON sarjana reguler UI akan dikenakan biaya pendidikan yang terdiri dari BOP dan UP (Uang Pangkal).

# Biaya Kuliah UI: Program S-1 Reguler
Program sarjana reguler diseleksi melalui jalur masuk SNMPTN Undangan, jalur UTBK SBMPTN, dan jalur SIMAK UI.
Untuk Tarif Uang Kuliah Tunggal UKT S-1 Reguler sendiri terbagi menjadi dua mekanisme yaitu BOP-B dan BOP-P.
Lantas, apa perbedaan dari BOP-Berkeadilan dan BOP-Pilihan?
BOP Berkeadilan merupakan penetapan biaya pendidikan sesuai dengan kemampuan penanggung biaya Mahasiswa, yang dilengkapi dengan formulir dan berkas yang telah ditentukan.
BOP Pilihan merupakan penetapan biaya pendidikan sesuai dengan pilihan penanggung biaya untuk berkontribusi pada pendidikan.
Jadi,
BOP-Berkeadilan membayar untuk memperoleh besaran hak BOP sesuai dengan kemampuan keuangan.
Sedangkan BOP-Pilihan membayar besaran BOP sesuai pilihan yang sudah ada agar bisa berkontribusi pada pendidikan.

Program UI yang termasuk dalam kategori biaya pendidikan ini adalah program pendididikan vokasi, program sarjana paralel, program sarjana ekstensi, program profesi, program magister, program doktor, hingga program spesialis.
Biaya pendidikan untuk mahasiswa Non S-1 Reguler terdiri dari BOP dan UP.
BOP (Biaya Operasional Pendidikan) dikenal juga dengan TF (Tuition Fee) dan UP (Uang Pangkal) dikenal juga dengan AF (Admission Fee).
Lantas, apa itu BOP dan UP di Universitas Indonesia?
Jadi, BOP merupakan komponen biaya pendidikan yang harus dibayar oleh Mahasiswa atau penanggung biaya pendidikan atas nama Mahasiswa tersebut pada setiap semester, sejak semester pertama hingga Mahasiswa dinyatakan lulus atau putus studi.
Sedangkan UP (Uang Pangkal) merupakan komponen biaya pendidikan yang harus dibayar oleh Mahasiswa atau penanggung biaya pendidikan, pada semester pertama dan hanya satu kali selama mahasiswa yang bersangkutan terdaftar sebagai Mahasiswa pada program studi pada jenjang pendidikan yang ditempuh.
Uang pangkal tersebut harus dibayarkan sekaligus bersamaan dengan pembayaran BOP Semester pertama pada masa Registrasi Administrasi sesuai dengan jadwal di kalender akademik yang ditetapkan oleh Universitas.

BOP merupakan komponen biaya pendidikan yang harus dibayar oleh Mahasiswa atau penanggung biaya pendidikan atas nama Mahasiswa tersebut pada setiap semester, sejak semester pertama hingga Mahasiswa dinyatakan lulus atau putus studi.
UP (Uang Pangkal) merupakan komponen biaya pendidikan yang harus dibayar oleh Mahasiswa atau penanggung biaya pendidikan, pada semester pertama dan hanya satu kali selama mahasiswa yang bersangkutan terdaftar sebagai Mahasiswa pada program studi pada jenjang pendidikan yang ditempuh.
BOP Berkeadilan merupakan penetapan biaya pendidikan sesuai dengan kemampuan penanggung biaya Mahasiswa, yang dilengkapi dengan formulir dan berkas yang telah ditentukan.
BOP Pilihan merupakan penetapan biaya pendidikan sesuai dengan pilihan penanggung biaya untuk berkontribusi pada pendidikan.
Jadi, BOP-Berkeadilan membayar untuk memperoleh besaran hak BOP sesuai dengan kemampuan keuangan.
Sedangkan BOP-Pilihan membayar besaran BOP sesuai pilihan yang sudah ada agar bisa berkontribusi pada pendidikan.
